1. Our commitment
Partido Bangon Bangsamoro believes every resident of the BARMM — including people with disabilities, older voters, and people using a wide range of devices and connection speeds — should be able to read our platform, find our contact information, and sign up to volunteer without unnecessary barriers. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we welcome feedback that helps us improve.
2. Conformance standard
We aim for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the widely recognized international standard for web accessibility. This Site has not undergone a formal third-party WCAG audit; the statement below describes the accessibility features we've deliberately built in, in good faith.
3. Built-in accessibility tools
Every page on this Site includes an accessibility toolbar — look for the circular icon in the bottom-left corner. It lets you adjust, on your own device, without needing an account:
- Text size — three steps, from default up to roughly 25% larger;
- High contrast mode — a black background with high-contrast text and links;
- Underlined links — makes links visually distinct from surrounding text beyond color alone;
- Readable spacing — increases line height and letter spacing for easier reading;
- Reduced motion — turns off animations and transitions, on top of automatically respecting your operating system's reduced-motion setting.
Your choices are remembered on your device between visits — see our Cookie Policy for details — and you can reset everything to default at any time from the same panel.
4. What we've done to support accessibility
- Semantic HTML structure with a logical heading hierarchy, so screen readers and other assistive technology can navigate the page predictably;
- A "Skip to main content" link at the very top of every page, for keyboard users;
- Descriptive
alttext on every meaningful image, including the platform infographics; - Visible focus indicators on interactive elements when navigating by keyboard;
- Sufficient color contrast between text and background in our brand palette;
- Accessible labels (
aria-label) on icon-only buttons and interactive elements without visible text; - Motion that respects both your operating system's "reduce motion" setting and the manual toggle in our accessibility toolbar;
- A responsive, mobile-first layout that works down to small phone screens without horizontal scrolling.
5. Known limitations
We're aware of areas that could still improve, including:
- Some embedded infographic images convey information visually that is also described in the surrounding text and alt text, but a fully accessible data-table alternative isn't yet provided for every complex graphic;
- Third-party embeds (such as our Facebook Page link) are governed by that platform's own accessibility practices, which we don't control.
We're actively working to close these gaps.
6. Feedback and contact
If you encounter an accessibility barrier anywhere on this Site, please tell us — specific page URLs and a description of the issue help us fix it faster. Contact us at info@bangonbangsamoro.com or through our Facebook Page. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback promptly.
